with effective and permanent popular pressure will it be possible to carry out
the impeachment and free Brazil from what will be known as the most tragic and
shameful moment in our republican history", writes History doctoral

Since the
beginning of the “vaccine war”, led by the governor of São Paulo, João Dória
(the Bolsodória, from 2018), and the president of the Republic, it was soon
seen that this could be the Achilles heel of the Federal Government, whose
performance from the first moment, it was aimed at boycotting efforts to obtain
and approve the vaccine. After the crisis that occurred in Manaus and the death
of hundreds of people due to lack of oxygen, it became a consensus even among
the most unaware that without the wide vaccination of the population there will
be no way out of the crisis. In approving the emergency use of Fiocruz and
Butantan vaccines, ANVISA, through technical advice, made it clear: there is no
early treatment for covid-19. The denialists' party is over. Talking about
chloroquine and ivermectin, from here on, could have serious consequences for
those responsible, and that includes Jair himself and his Minister General of
the Army who occupies the health portfolio.
When
considering the picture on screen, it is unreasonable to maintain any illusion
that the attacks of Dória and the mainstream media against Bolsonaro, due to
the conduct of the pandemic, are due to any appreciation for life or for the
scientific development of the country. The target of both is the presidential
election of 2022, when they will dispute the vote of the voter on the right.
When considering that open letter sent by Tarso Genro to João Dória, asking the
governor to place himself as a leader in favor of the impeachment of the
president with businessmen and the elite of São Paulo, there are strong
indications that, until now, part of the left has followed in tow from the
right on the subject of ridding Brazil of Bolsonaro.
The
mainstream press has already shown that it does not want impeachment. In a
recent editorial, O Globo newspaper asked Chancellor Ernesto Araújo to leave.
In turn, Folha de S. Paulo intervened criticizing the presence of military
personnel in civilian government positions, essentially General Pazuello, whose
incompetence shames the Army and kills Brazilians. What none of these positions
presented consider is: both General Pazuello and Ernesto Araújo are only in the
positions they currently occupy due to the bovine submission they offer to
Jair's hallucinations. In the case of the chancellor, the shameful posture of
Trumpist servant, hurting the very interests of the people and the nation; the
General Minister acts to stifle health and shorten the lives of Brazilians by
spreading false information and ineffective treatments. In other words, it does
no good to change the lackeys and allow the person responsible for the tragedy
to remain unscathed. And, apparently, this is the solution proposed by the
sectors on the right.
For the
bourgeoisie and its representatives, the key is to maintain the neoliberal
economic agenda. It doesn't matter if it will be necessary for hundreds of
thousands of Brazilians to die. This is the guideline that leads the two
aforementioned newspapers to ask for the ministers to leave, not to mention the
president's role and his definitive participation and influence on the
attitudes of his subordinates. It is worth remembering that General Pazuello
tried to buy the coronavac, in October 2020, but was disallowed by Jair
Bolsonaro who used “I am in charge!” and canceled the agreement, definitely
contributing to the delay in the start of immunization in Brazil.
Thus,
considering the scene game played by the right to entertain the unwary, it is
clear that the impeachment will have to be carried out through the left.
Parties, organizations, associations, associations, unions and social movements
have the Herculean and fundamental task of transforming the struggle for the
impeachment of Bolsonaro into a large mass movement of the population,
occupying the streets and social networks, requiring ample and free vaccination
for all , the maintenance of emergency aid and the consequent impeachment. On
the 23rd, next, in all of Brazil, it should only be the beginning of a struggle
that will last months, it will be arduous, but, with the people and for the
people, it has the certainty of victory.
The delay in
the arrival of inputs for the manufacture of immunizers is a clear proof of the
government's incompetence, its despicable diplomacy and the murderous
conduction of the General Minister of Health. In the course of the pandemic,
the trend is the consequent increase in the numbers of cases and deaths due to
the delay in vaccination and the predictable collapse of the health system. The
people need to be on the streets and on social media, putting pressure on the
National Congress to take vigorous measures to stop the slaughter and protect
the population from its inhumane executive branch rulers. Only with effective
and permanent popular pressure will it be possible to carry out the impeachment
and free Brazil from what will be known as the most tragic and shameful moment
in our republican history. May we be up to the task.
