O município de Nova Iguaçu foi premiado na 2ª Campanha Nacional de Incentivo à Criação das CIPAs

The city of Nova Iguaçu was awarded in the 2nd National Campaign to Encourage the Creation of School-Based Accident Prevention Committees (CIPAs), organized by the Public Ministry of Labor (MPT), the International Labor Organization (ILO), and the Labor Inspection Secretariat (SIT/MTE).

The recognition highlighted the work carried out by the city in implementing and renewing Internal School Accident Prevention Committees (CIPAs) in its educational units, reaffirming its commitment to the safety and well-being of students and education professionals.

The city reached the milestone of 100% coverage in its 148 municipal schools, with 8 new CIPAs implemented in 2024 and 140 updated, winning first place in the category of states and cities with 101 to 300 schools, winning the prize of 15 notebooks and 200 project t-shirts.

“This award reaffirms our commitment to the Comprehensive Protection Network for our students. Awareness and prevention actions in the school environment have been a reality in the municipal education network of the city of Nova Iguaçu”, stated the municipal secretary of Education, Maria Virgínia Andrade Rocha.

The CIPA Escolar project aims to transform Brazil into a country where accident prevention begins and is incorporated in schools. To this end, it seeks to promote educational actions on safety, combating child labor, bullying and risk situations. It also monitors school spaces, identifying and correcting possible threats to the safety of students and professionals.
